Adventuring and family are two foundational elements and priorities to Layla and Jeff (both individually and as a couple). As they explored their options for their wedding, they almost settled for a Cabo/Mexico wedding only to realize that’s just not ‘them.’ They scratched their plans and decided to have an intimate wedding in Big Sur, CA, with just their immediate families. They wanted their day to be relaxed and consist of the two things they prioritize most: family and adventuring. Their wedding day morning started off together… LOVE THAT! They woke up together, had breakfast, did a hike, drank some coffee, and parted ways only when it was time to get ready. Layla had the two closest women in her life help her get ready: her mom and grandma. After she got ready, she FaceTimed her girlfriends back home. What a sweet way to include your friends from a thousand miles away. While Layla got ready, Jeff got dressed and wrote his vows. These two had their first look and we were OFF! We explored all of Big Sur, CA, from cliff sides to the Redwoods and the beach. Talk about my kinda road trip!!!! Doing what I love + with my photographer and videographer friends all at once?! A DREAM!!! The creative juices were flowing between all of us and we were on creative cloud 9!
After a half day of exploring, we returned to their Airbnb/venue, Wind and Sea. They had a private oceanside ceremony where Layla’s uncle married them on a cliff overlooking the crashing waves. Their ceremony concluded just in time for their first dance on the deck as the sun set. Layla and Jeff hired a renowned private chef to provide a one-of-a-kind, elevated dinner experience for their family. The meal, table scape, florals, candles, all of it was phenomenal. Their dreamy intimate wedding vision came to life and it was one for the books! Layla said “getting to have our wedding pictures be where we developed our relationship the most (in nature) is the biggest gift ever” — I. LOVE. THIS. Y’all! Your wedding day is about YOU.
