Laura and Beau lived a Hawaii elopement that DREAMS are made of. Talk about seeing all that Maui has to offer in a few days. It all started with a Wedding Eve adventure shoot. How this idea came about: there were one too many gorgeous spots we wanted to visit on Laura and Beau’s elopement day but not enough time in the day for all that driving and exploration. SO! We decided to do all of that THE DAY BEFORE! We did the Road to Hana and it was surreal… the waterfalls, cliffs, serene nature… WOOWOWOW!! How can you go to Maui and not explore everything? We departed from our hotel at 10:30am and didn’t return until 9:00pm! Our roadtrip together included tons of conversations, life talks, laughs and ooo-ing/aaa-ing as we looked out the window :’). I loved our spontaneous photo stops (queue the golf course we passed and found worthwhile to turn around for a quick mini shoot). How special that we got to learn and experience authentic Hawaiian culture from locals themselves during our pitstops breaks. The last spot we visited on our adventure was the Black Sand Beach… it was the collective FAVORITE spot. Saved the best outfit for last too ;) Laura’s blue dress complimented the water and sand; Beau’s khakis and white button down was neutral to balance the vibrant palm trees and exotic flowers. This wedding eve adventure shoot captured so much of the beauty Maui has to offer AND it captured Laura and Beau’s playful, genuine, friendly, engaged relationship on their last night before officially becoming husband and wife. :)
IT’S WEDDING DAY!!!! There are so many reasons why I LOVE elopements. You get to make the day YOUR OWN! There’s no tradition, guideline, or timeline you need to abide by other than what your heart desires!!! You get to EXPERIENCE the state/country we’re in, live in the moment of your wedding day, and I narrate it all with my camera. It’s also allllll about you, your person, and your LOVE! Don’t get me wrong… I love a big party but everyone says it… it goes by QUICK! There’s something really special about taking the big party out and resetting the focus on your person and simply put: getting married. Laura and Beau’s focus was solely each other and they didn’t skip a beat! After their first look, we ventured to Honolua Jungle as our first stop where we were immersed in nature’s greens. It was unlike anything we’ve ever seen before! Lots of bugs… also unlike anything we’ve ever seen before, lol! The lush nature was one-of-a-kind. From there we made a spontaneous pitstop at a tucked away cliffside with a scenic backdrop — an intimate spot for the two of them to read their private vows. Did I cry hearing their words and promises to one another? Yes, I sure did. At that spot they also watched videos sent from their family and friends back home … what a sweet way to incorporate the presence of your loved ones on your elopement day! We had a few other stops before we made it to Ironwoods to meet Kuya, their officiant, who was set to marry them at sunset. Did you know that a lot of kissing happens between the couple *THROUGHOUT* a traditional Hawaiian ceremony? I LOVE THAT!!! The more kisses the better ;). These two got “MAUI’D” and we spent sunset on another cliffside (they are all SO UNIQUE! You can never get enough!!), enjoying the beautiful nature and taking fun polaroids to close out the night.
