WHERE DO I START?!??! Morgan and Matt go way back… like, a college frat party love story ;) but for our purposes let’s start in 2020, when Matt reached out to me about his plans to propose to Morgan. At that time, he told me Morgan had always wanted me to photograph their proposal. Little did she know that would happen someday and I would be there to capture so so much more. :’)
October 2020 – Matt planned to surprise Morgan with not only a proposal but also all her best friends AND her siblings. Matt flew in Morgan’s siblings from San Diego because he knew that would mean the world to her. What a priceless surprise and seeing Morgan’s face from that moment made all that effort so so worth it.
Morgan grew up in San Diego so they frequently traveled there during their relationship. They wanted to incorporate that somehow which is how we settled on a San Diego destination engagement shoot (November 2021)!! It was at this shoot that I coined the term/experience “marathon engagement shoot”… backstory: me and Morgan’s text convo was going OOFFFFF ooing and awwing all the cool places we could explore/shoot at in San Diego. We had TOO MANY IDEAS that couldn’t possibly fit into one evening but we didn’t want to cut any out… sooooo… we did them all and we split up the shoot between the morning and evening. AM: catch a cliff side sunrise and play around on a beach that they had many dates at. Hit up the streets of downtown San Diego for some urban vibes. Camp out on a rooftop and watch the airplanes land. Did I mention Matt is a pilot? How neat that we got to incorporate that detail into their engagement shoot! *part 1 of their marathon engagement shoot concludes*. Morgan showed us around her hometown and took us to her favorite coffee shops and lunch spots. PM: we drove 2.5 hours away (ROAD TRIP!!!!) to some sand dunes. It was INSANE! That was definitely my FAV shoot and so iconic. The night ended at Morgan’s mom’s house where I got to partake in cake testing with the fam. Photographer and taste tester? I’ll take it ;)
AAAAND this leads us to September 16, 2022 — their wedding day at their dream wedding venue: Pinewood. After almost two years of dreaming and planning this day, it was here!!!!
This day consisted of an incredible group and an even more amazing love worth celebrating. Morgan and Matt are spontaneous, FUN, caring, and you radiate so much joy. It is refreshing to see how much comfort and contentment they bring to each other. In her vows, Morgan shared: “I fell into your arms the night I met you, but I didn’t fall at all – it was like walking into a house and knowing I was already home.” WE. WERE. ALL. CRYING. These two are meant to be and we are ALL overjoyed that they’re finally MARRIED! What started as me photographing a proposal grew into me photographing life milestones all while celebrating two clients-turned-friends. Long live this friendship and our group chat with weekly aviation questions… lol! I love you guys!!!!
